    We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer in our Maritime Systems Engineering group. This position directly supports EMS business units in the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Ensures that program Engineering processes and procedures are defined and followed.
    Acts as the interface between the technical team and project leadership.
    Supports the integration of the engineering solution within the overall engineering environment; and ensures that appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed.
    Organization of all engineering work to support the project integrated master schedule (IMS) and budget per the project management Plan (PMP)
    Assist in the management and execution of the IMS
    Provide day-to-day prioritization of tasks as planned engineering schedule
    Work with PM/scheduler to update engineering manpower estimation
    Be accountable for Engineering tasks budget, schedule and technical performance.
    Assist in management of program schedules and resource needs for a cross-functional engineering team.
    Monitors System Requirement Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR) and Test and Operation Readiness reviews to ensure entrance and exit criteria are followed.
    Communicates with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the solution development cycle, and represents the company as a prime technical contact on contracts and/or projects.
    Assist in proposals/white papers, and interfaces with customers as well as providing formal documentation to assist in technical presentations as required. .
    Supports technical leadership on product design, development and improvement projects in conjunction with Program Management.
    Collaborate with Program Office, Chief Engineer, Systems, Design, and Engineering Services groups.
    Partnering with stakeholders to assist in cost, scheduled, production and performance commitments.
    Works with functional engineering leads to develop Basis of Estimates for engineering support to projects.

    Job Qualifications

    Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or related technical field and progressively complex engineering experience as follows; six or more years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree, four or more years’ experience with a Master’s degree, and two or more with a PhD. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
    Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, enabling an effective interface with internal and external stakeholders
    Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and applications of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones, with some experience in technical project management.
    Familiar with Earned Value Management (EVMS) work package management or similar schedule/cost framework and supporting EVMS statusing.

    Requires flexibility, persistence, consistent display of composure, and skill in achieving shared goals when handling competing high priorities with rapid turnaround time in a multi-contract environment.
    Multi-tasking team player with a hands-on approach; customer-focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
    Experience with Requirements Management Systems, support requirements and lifecycle planning and integration for DOD systems is desired.
    Working knowledge/experience of Maritime product lines and customers and DOD experience is highly desired.
    US Citizenship is required.
    Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed.
    Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is desired.
